Rogério Studart

Dr.  Rogério  STUDART  –  Current Alternate Executive Director to the World Bank Group, representing Brazil, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Haiti, Panama, Philippines, Suriname and Trinidad & Tobago. He was also Executive Director of the same countries from November 2010 – October 2012 and from June 2007- October 2008 and Alternate Executive  Director  from  November  2008  –  October 2010.  Mr. Studart was also Executive Director for Brazil and Suriname at the Inter- American Development Bank (IADB) and the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC); Chairman of the Committee of Executive Directors of the IIC; Chairman of the Budget and Financial Policies Committee of the IADB. Previously he held positions as economist with the Inter-American Development Bank, the United Nations, the Brazilian Institute of Statistics and Geography (IBGE), and Chase Manhattan Bank of Brazil. He has acted as consultant to multilateral institutions, think tanks, private companies, and public sectors.

Mr. Studart holds Ph.D. in Economics from the University of London, England, with expertise   in   macroeconomics,   development   economics,   and   finance.   His   Ph.D. dissertation  – published  in  1995  by Routledge  Editors,  London  -    was  awarded  the Eichner Prize for best Ph.D. dissertation in monetary economics in the University of London. Since then he has published and co-authored several scholarly books and articles on macroeconomics, finance, and development finance, participated as speakers in academia, at private sector events, and public sector seminars. He also holds a tenure position with the Institute of Economics of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (IE- UFRJ).
